The Poncirus trifoliata ‘Flying Dragon’ is the perfect plant for a hardy, orange garden provided you keep it away from paths – it is a spiky little thing. Deciduous, and hardy to Zone 5, the plant starts the spring with little white flowers, then over the summer grows small, orange-like fruit which is sour but a perfect addition to an orange-themed garden. Likes sun but can handle part shade, which is exactly where we put it – next to a Snowball bush and underplanted with fern. We are excited for spring. For those in the PNW, found this baby at the Wells Medina Nursery in Bellevue.
